. we it is wednesday morning. we are halfway through the week. glad you're with us. good morning. i'm steve chenevey. >> i'm sarah simmons. welcome to fox 5 morning news. let's check in with tony perkins now. it is just nasty today. >> we've got the rain in here early this morning. there are areas of heavy rain as you said and some pooling on some of the roadways too. we got a lot to deal with this morning. let's start with hd radar. we'll show you where the precipitation is as we speak. not everybody is getting it but most of you are right now. all across the washington metropolitan area, you can see it in green there. the areas where you are seeing some of the yellow colors, that is where we have heavier rainfall at this hour including in northwest washington and just out to the west and southwest as well. and then south and west of manassas, dale city, places like that. seneca valley he were apark, a little narrow band of heavy rain coming through there. portions of eastern maryland, chesapeake bay aren't getting rain at this point but you will a little bit later. right now, curr
. glad you're with us this morning. i'm steve chenevey. >> i'm sarah simmons. welcome to fox 5 morning news. a lot of people may not be looking to saturday. it will be crazy in the weather department. >> are the weather people allowed in here. >> can you come in. >> i cooperate believe it when i woke up and tucker is telling me this. >> we expected this, the cold air to work its way in here and so it has. today will be a cool day as expected. the most interesting thing obviously about the forecast is we are talking about some snow for some of our viewers for tomorrow. that is rather extraordinary for late october. we'll get to that in a moment. let's take a look at the current sentinel radar. you can see across our region, we had precipitation yesterday, of course, as expected. there is some precip showing up in southwestern portions of virginia according to this particular radar image. i'm not certain that is anything of any significance. tucker and i will chat about that a little bit later on. looks like this may be some moisture there. more rainfall and precipitation well out to the

for being with us early this morning. i'm steve chenevey. >> i'm sarah simmons. welcome to fox 5 morning news. let's say good morning to tony perkins. it was a gorgeous weekend this week. >> couldn't ask for much better. >> it was fantastic. >> it will be nice again today. >> another good day on tap. not a bad day as far as our weather conditions. we'll see our temperatures in the 70s again today. that is where we were yesterday. the low 70s. let's take a look at the current temperatures around the region. we are currently for the most part in the 60s. right now here in washington, we've got a temperature of 64 degrees. baltimore is at 61. dulles airport, 63. winchester, 61. patuxent naval air station, 68. here is a look at the satellite- radar composite for this morning. some clouds out there, also some rain so, wade frontal boundary that will be sinking southward moving through our area. we don't think many of those showers hang together for us. maybe a shower or two off to the north. for the most part, we should be dry as the front comes through and we'll get very quiet and nice condi
us now. >> let's get a check of our weather with tony perkins and sliding in here. >> so smooth. >> i try my best, you know. >> things looking good out there. >> things look great. we'll have fine weather conditions today as promised. and for the foreseeable future. >> nice. we love that. let's take a look. we'll start with the temperatures around the region. as expected, getting five school start once again with temperatures in the 50s in much of the area. a couple of 40s in the area but mostly 50s. 57 here in the district. 54 out at dulles airport. 52 in fredericksburg so not bad at all out there. not much to show you here. we've got mostly clear skies and we will have mostly her skies through the day today. it has been a while since we've been able to do that. instead of clouds and rain and mist and all of that, we should see plenty of sunshine. forecast for today, a sunny day. a little bit breezy. look for high temperatures today into the low and mid-70s. how about 57 for washington. 72 for front royal and 76 for waldorf. not a bad day. enjoy. those temperatures are above normal.
